So, what happened since the last time I wrote? Operation “Cast Lead” ended. I’m sure glad it’s over, because I was really sceard and worried during this operation (I’ve got family in southern Israel). But… People in the south still live under fire. I was pretty angry when I heard that it’s not over! It’s not fair at all. But life aren’t fair.

I heard from some of you that there’s a problem with commenting; That’s because the system is in Hebrew. I don’t really know what to do about it, so I might move my blog to anouther bloging-system, and I’ll let you all know if I’ll change.

Yesterday there was another meeting of “Yama” project. If you don’t know what it’s all about you can read my last entry, where I told all about it.
It was really fun! at the beginning I felt really horrible but then I was alright. It was great to meet all my friends from all-over the country again…

I’ll write again as soon as I can

Today I was in a special meeting of YAMA project, to discuss about the situation in Gaza strip. This project helped and opened this blog for me.

In YAMA project we (kids from 13-about 17 years old) learn how to explain Israel to the world, and how to help others understand that we’re not as bad as people might think. We learn how to talk to others without insulting, how to use visual aids and more.
The meeting was in Tel-Aviv, which is far from my southern-home town. So I had to wake up in 6:30 AM! It was hard for me because I’m not used to wake up that early; I live next to my school.
So after I woke up and got ready, I went with my friends to wait for the main bus of the project to come. It was nice to meet them so early, because we had a very long day together…
When the bus finally showed-up, we got in quickly and we drove away. I was really excited to meet all my friends from the project, who I didn’t see for a month. The way to Tel-Aviv was very long, but I enjoyed every second because I had my friends with me.

When we’ve finally arrived, I realized that the long way was only the beginning of this interesting day. We listened to lots of lectures, which helped us and gave us the basic tools and facts to talk to teenagers around the world, and see if we can show them what’s really happening at Gaza.
I am really excited to help… It’s been my goal for a lot of time to make a change. As a little girl I couldn’t change anything, of course, but as long as I’m growing-up my dream is getting real!

Now I want to talk a little bit about the war in Gaza area. This is just really scary! I’ve been into similar thing two-years ago, in the second Lebanon war, and I know it was just horrible. I can’t explain really how it is, because those are nothing but words… But I just want to remind you- People are forced to live in fear with no-way out for the last 8 years! It shouldn’t happen.
I always keep telling myself; everything would be just fine, but how can I promise? I can’t tell for sure, and that makes me worried.

After 8 horrible years of fear for the cilivians in southern cities like Sderot and more cities, now there is a war in the south and nobody’s safe.

I can talk forever about the situation, but because it is my blog I want to express my feelings about it.

To be true, I am afraid. I don’t live in the south, but I am afraid for my country. I don’t know if I’ll wake up into a reality of war; I don’t know a thing. This is what scares me the most. I’m afraid to be misunderstood in front of all my friends from overseas- Israel is shown as the evil-group, which isn’t true.
Don’t understand me wrong; I’m totally aginst attacking when it isn’t neccesery! but it just drives me insane that people don’t understand that those Israelies lived under fire for the last 8 years. I can’t imagine how awful it is, to the Israelies and to the Arabs- in those moments I just can’t understand why we all can’t be just friends. I know I’m naive, maybe too much, but it’s just so great to imagine….

So now Hanukkah is here, and I’m ready for the great holiday, 8 days of resting. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? Well, it is. I can sleep as long as I’ll want, eat as much as I’ll want and have fun with my family the whole week. And if that’s isn’t enough, Presents are part of the deal, too.

Yesterday we had a special day for Hanukkah, so we just had fun the whole day. It was really fun, and relaxing; I really needed that after all the tests and the homework.

After school ended, I went back home (I live very close to my school- It’s just great because I’m not depended at anyone), I ate lunch and watched TV until my mom arrived with my brother. I watched over my brother while my mom was sleeping, becuase she works very hard and I like to help her. My brother ran-around me the whole hour, laughing and talking non-stop.

at 5:00 o’clock, my sister arrived back from a friend. We played with my brother together and after my mom woke up, we started cooking dinner together.

after dad finally arrived, we ate dinner and light hanukkah’s first candle. Now, I’m ready for the greatest week of the year!

This is the very first post of my brand new blog, and I’m very excited. I would like to start this post with some details about me, so I won’t be a complete stranger to you; it is very important for me to be in contact with you, so you can always send a message or a comment and I’ll make sure it will be answered.

About me- Just a little bit so we’ll know each other better…:

I am 13 years old, probably close (or pretty close) to your age. I am not very tall but I am very skinny, and I have short, brown curly hair and dark brown eyes. I go to school everyday at “Ort Tivon”, right here in my hometown Tivon. I love music, from all kinds, and I love reading, writing, dancing and shopping.

I hope it’s enough for now…

I really wanted to open this blog because I feel that Israel is misrepresented to the world , and we don’t always comment about false articles and videos made about us, and I feel we’re out of the picture and I hope to change it. I want to talk to the world, to say what I have to say and let you all hear; I want to let the truth float

See you around,
